Volunteers for next year:
We are looking for a parent to take on the job of ordering the team t-shirts and uniforms as the current parent has a senior this year. This is a pretty easy job that doesn’t take too much time. If you are interested in taking this roll on for next year, please let me know and we will put you in touch with the current parent for a smooth transition. We will also need one or two people to help coordinate Senior Night next year. If you’re interested, let me know so that you can be involved this year to see how it’s done. The team coordinating it now has it down to a science but will need a bit of help this year, especially with getting the seniors and their parents lined up because they all have seniors.

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at their second Central League regular season meet yesterday afternoon at Rose Tree Park in Media. The boys came on strong in the last mile of the race and beat Lower Merion, Radnor, Garnet Valley, and Upper Darby. Unfortunately, the boys did fall to the Raiders of Ridley. The girls continued their dominance of the Central League by easily sweeping the competition. Alexia Tubbs again had a first-place finish. The girl’s team and Alexia are undefeated in the Central League. The girls haven’t fallen to a Central League team in over two years.
Thanks!

Hi Everyone!
As promised I am sending some details for the photos on Tuesday. The photographer will be coming before practice and we need all runners to wear or bring their Conestoga singlet and black shorts. The photographer will be taking individual photos of everyone. These photos will primarily be used for social media and Senior night.
There will be options to purchase your child’s photos. A week or two after the photos are completed I will send out a link with the details. QTG offers prints, digitals, metals, posters and packages with discounts. Prints start at $40. There are also packages for digitals that have great discounts. Below is a link to their web page and a pdf link that talks a little about their offerings. Please note that in the pdf it says that there will be a session fee of $20 per child but please disregard that.
Thanks!

1. Make or buy a pasta dish, salad, or anything else you see on the list. If you are bringing pasta, please label!!
2. Bring your item to the practice pavilion between 4:30 - 5:00 pm.
3. Return to pick up your runner around 6:00 pm.
Also, no need to bring a serving utensil— we have TONS. We also have a lot of hot/cold bags for keeping food warm.
You can access the Sign up Genius here:
https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10C0E4BACA62FABF8C16-51083085-september
NOTE FOR SATURDAY: The bus time has been pushed back to 7:30 am. Anticipated return time will be between 2 and 2:30 pm.
Thanks!

Hello Stoga XC Parents!
Hi XC Parents!
I’m just following up with a few important things:
Car Wash Saturday: The XC team will host a car wash this Saturday from 11-2 at the bus circle at the school. We are hoping to raise some money for a few fun things we are planning. We would love to have as many runners there as possible to help. I have attached the social media image if you care to share it. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors!
Optional practices happening now: We are having optional practices at the pavilion at Wilson Farm Park every weekday Monday through Friday. When school is out the time will change to 8 am.
Schoology Code: Please ensure that your student has joined the Schoology group so they can receive XC updates. The code is FQJTV-NQND3.
Fall Sports meeting follow up: I have attached the handout from the meeting. Please review as it has all the important information for the season including a tentative schedule.
Uniforms: If you are new, you will need to purchase a singlet for your child. There is a turnaround time, so the sooner the better. Here is the link to purchase the singlets: https://stores.inksoft.com/conestogaxctf/shop/products/uniform?page=1

Hello Stoga XC Parents!
As spring sports are starting to wrap up, we are looking to the fall. There will be a fall sports meeting virtually tonight at 6pm. There will be a general presentation followed by a sport specific presentation given by Coach Hawkins. There are two different links for these. The information can be found at https://www.tesd.net/Page/6676. Coach will review everything that is happening now as well as summer and fall.
For anyone that is interested, some of the Coaches and runners are currently meeting at Wilson Farm Park at the Pavilion at 3:30 during the week to run. These are optional practices but encouraged for anyone not currently active in a spring sport.
If you know of any incoming freshman or new students interested in XC, please give them my contact information so we can get them added to the email list.
If you are copied on this email and your child is no longer participating in XC, please email me back and let me know and I will remove you from the list.
Thanks!

Both teams look to compete next at the District 1 Championship at Lehigh University in two weeks.

We have our 2nd pasta dinner on Monday the 18th and would appreciate everyone’s participation. We did have some food left over after the first one, so we have adjusted the sign up genius some to accommodate this. We have also changed the drop off time to end at 5:00 instead of 5:15 so please take note.
The commitment isn’t much:

*************************************************************************************************************
Hi Everyone!
Here are the follow up notes from the Parent Meeting along with some housekeeping items:
Housekeeping Items
Practice Tomorrow:
Practice will be at 3:30 starting tomorrow and for the rest of the season. Practice will still be at the WFP pavilion.
Friday’s Meet:
The bus Departure Time for Friday has been updated! Please have your students at Conestoga for the bus at 2:30pm. Make sure they bring plenty of water. If they do not yet have a uniform, please make sure that they wear a maroon t-shirt and black shorts.
Central Athletic League Schedule Update:
We were just informed of two changes in our league meet dates. The first meet remains the same but the next two have been shifted a day. This will change the second pasta dinner as well. I have updated the schedule on the follow up attachment from the parent’s meeting.
These are the changes:
Meet 2 changed from Wednesday 9/20 to Tuesday 9/19. This means that the pasta dinner will now be 9/18.
Meet 3 changed from Tuesday 9/26 to Wednesday 9/27.
Parent Social:
We have scheduled a Parent Social for September 24th at 4 pm at the Warkentine house. There will be separate information sent on this, but please mark your calendars.
Parent’s Meeting Highlights
I have added the document that was handed out at the meeting to this email. It contains some notes and the updated schedule.
Practices:
The school does NOT provide buses from school to practices at Wilson. Parent’s and upper classman typically drive students for this. The captains should have started a group chat for anyone who needs to catch a ride from upper classman. The rides will be coordinated through those chats. We practice in all weather (rain, snow, heat). Unless it is lightning, we will be running!
Meets
The school will provide buses for all meets. Invitationals or Saturday meets are optional. All weekday or league meets are mandatory.
Shoes:
Please ensure that your child has the proper shoes for running. They need to be well cushioned and not worn out. This is an investment, but an important one! Road Runner Sports in KOP Town Center can evaluate your student and help choose the right shoe for them.
Injuries:
Ice and foam rolling are the two good options for injuries. You can purchase both on Amazon. Amazon has ice sleeves that Velcro around the leg and work really well for most injuries. Common running injuries can be shin splits, patella tendinitis, and planta fasciitis.
Pasta Dinners:
We will have two pasta dinner this year before two of our league meets. This is a Cross Country tradition that the kids really enjoy. All of the food and set up/break down are done by parents. There will be a sign-up genius sent out a week in advance asking for volunteers. We need everyone’s help with these!
Senior Night:
Senior Night will be on 10/12 at the Stage at Wilson Farm Park. We hope that all parents can attend, but particularly Senior Parents as they will escort the students for the event. We will serve pizza and Coach Hawkins will emcee.
End of Season Banquet:
The banquet will be held on 11/15 at Aronimink Golf Club. All are welcome, there will be a cost to attend. More information will come out on this as we get closer.
Uniforms:
Athletes are responsible for purchasing uniforms for XC. Since this is mandatory, we chose an affordable option and we are hoping students can use it for their entire high school XC career. We ask athletes to purchase a singlet and they can use any pair of black shorts they own. We are doing things a little bit differently this year. Uniforms can be purchased directly through our website. There is some lead time required for uniforms, so I would suggest you order them as soon as possible. If you are unable to afford the uniform, please contact me privately so we can arrange financial help for you.
I think this is primarily what we went over.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Thanks!
Stacy
